Back on the Path!

Welcome to 2025! It’s a good year if you like neat numbers divisible by 5, with a pleasing ring to the ear. Also a good year if the previous one has been a bit of a write off!

I won’t be forgetting last year but it was not an easy one. I was forced off the path by assorted crisis that were faced and battled through. And, just like folk tales and fairy stories, I’ll weave them together for later retellings. Instead, I choose to remember the positives and learn from the less pleasant elements.

Here are some thoughts to help me back on the path.

I experienced the shared strength and supportive love of family and friends throughout the difficult year. I heard many previously unspoken family stories, some of which may go down as the funniest and inspiring true tales I’ve had the privilege to hear first hand. All of these were told in the warm safety of family gatherings; no judgments or criticisms, just thankfulness the these stories were finally shared.

I have also rekindled and strengthened some very special, long standing friendships that have stood the test tests of time and distance and filled my heart with joy and laughter.

I experienced some of the most awe inspiring scenery imaginable and some of the indigenous stories, storytellers and artists that are a living part of this landscape.

There were many new books read and I even gained a few new hats!

So… bring it on 2025! My family, friends, stories and songs will ease the way into a new chapter for Leanne Storyteller.
